Microagression

A year ago I dyed my hair ash grey. Due to my negligence, the colour of my hair faded until its colour turned into yellow. However, I decided to leave it as it was, I wanted to see if people would treat me differently just because my appearance changed. Of course I was subjected to all kinds of discrimination from my friends, acquaintances, people I barely knew, people I don’t know, and even some family members. Turns out whether you agree or don’t, the majority of people do judge you for your looks and not your character. I didn’t care that much on the other hand, and decided to leave my hair for an additional month in a country that couldn’t understand or careless about discrimination. However, I learnt a very valuable lesson, no matter what an individual looks like or portrays, you should always give him/her a chance to prove otherwise. Peace out!sooraaa
